Prisoners Rights

Prisoners may be denied the right to read certain materials, such as their religion’s holy book. There are also a number of rights to which prisoners are not entitled. Prisoners have no right to parole, or to have an attorney present at a parole hearing or parole revocation hearing. There is no right to a particular classification (i.e. minimum security, solitary confinement, etc.). Prisoners may not vote in elections. Their right to freedom of speech is also limited.
